Ruth C. Williams, 94, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, in the Robert Lee Care Center. Graveside service was held Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, in the Robert Lee Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Ruth was born Sept. 30, 1916, in Robert Lee, Texas, to Grover and Mary Casey. She graduated high school and was a lifelong resident of Robert Lee, Texas. She married her husband, Sam Williams, on May 9, 1935, in Robert Lee, Texas. Ruth was also a longtime member of Robert Lee Baptist Church. She worked as a mail carrier for 50 years, as well as helping operate the funeral homes in Bronte and Robert Lee with her husband. Ruth was a hard worker, devoted mother and wife. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Sam Williams. She is survived by her son, Gary Sam Williams and wife Gaye of Glen Rose; daughter-in-law Judy Williams of Robert Lee; and grandchildren Shell Williams and wife Brenda of Robert Lee, Audrey Roe and husband Ray of Weatherford, Darren Williams and wife Debbie of San Angelo and John Williams and wife Laurie of Lewisville, N.C. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be sent to Robert Lee Baptist Church or Emmanuel Pentecostal of Robert Lee.
