Born about 1842 in Humphreys County, Tennessee to William F. Beasley and Nancy Corbitt. He joined Company G. 10th Regiment Tennessee Cavalry at Waverly, Tenn. on December 13, 1862 along with one, possibly two, of his brothers. He was a private when captured by Union forces on September 18, 1864 in Humphreys County. On October 13, 1864 he was transferred from Nashville to Louisville. From Louisville he was transferred to Camp Chase, Ohio where he was received October 18, 1864. He died of smallpox on January 15, 1865 at age of 22 or 23. He was single.
