At about the age of twenty-five years he settled in the western part of Sharon, where he had a sawmill for twenty years or more, returning to New Ipswich in 1829, and after a brief residence near Kidder Mountain (N. D. 55,)he settled in the Pratt Pond region, living for several years upon the farm at the end of the road just east from the pond, (XV: 3,S.R.,) and afterward with his son Gilman, one lot farther to the north.
