SOUTH FORK – Homer Kenneth Fry, 30, died yesterday morning at his home at 786 Lake Street, the result of an injury to the back, which he suffered in a mine accident five years ago. He had been bedfast since the injury.
Mr. Fry was injured in an accident at the Riverside coal mine here in 1934. Prior to his injury he was a well-known athlete, having been a member of the South Fork High School athletic teams. He also played independent football and baseball.
Mr. Fry was a son of Samuel H. and Mary (Box) Fry and was born in South Fork. Surviving are his parents and these brothers and sisters: William Fry, South Fork; Kermit and Ruth Fry, both at home, and Mrs. Ethel Inman, Dale Borough.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the South Fork Evangelical Church by Rev. Gleason K. Hetrick. Interment will be in the South Fork Cemetery under the direction of George Bros., local morticians. The remains will be removed to the church at 1:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and may be viewed until the time of the services.
