Thomas Jackson Jenkins, 87 of Culpeper, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the Culpeper Regional Hospital. Rev. Jenkins had a full life.

Thomas was born April 29, 1923 in Covington, Louisiana to the late Charles H. and Gertrude Jenkins.

A native of Covington, Louisiana, he serviced during World War II as a member of the 89th Infantry Division. He was a Staff Sergeant, and fought from France to the Czechoslovakian border. Mr. Jenkins was a dairy farmer, barber and retired from the Iron Workers Local 5. He was an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God (Cleveland, Tennessee) and the pastor of the Leesburg Church of God.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife Joy Jenkins and their daughters Darlene Temple and her husband Jim of Culpeper and Connie Johnson and her husband Mike of Kingston, Tennessee. Nine grandchildren; Melissa McGlothin, Jonathan Nuckles, Jay, Tom, Ben, Mike and Matthew Temple, Michelle Johnson and Niki Dartt, Also surviving him are his 22 great grandchildren.

Thomas was one of a family of 16 brothers and sisters, 6 siblings still residing in Louisiana.

In addition to his parents Rev. Jenkins is preceded in death by his stepfather, Jesse Jenkins and his daughter, Ann Nuckles and her husband Marvin, in addition to 9 of his siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 12pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper with the Reverend Donald Jones officiating.
Interment will follow at the Culpeper National Cemetery with Military honor provided by the Culpeper VFW Post 2524 and the Culpeper American Legion Post 330.

The family will receive friends from 10am to 12pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at the Found and Sons Funeral Chapel in Culpeper. In lieu of flowers as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Advancing Native Missions, P.O. Box 5303, Charlottesville, Va 22905, in honor of Thomas J. Jenkins for Comforting the Persecuted Church ministry fund.
