CHRISTIAN STAUFFER

An old and respected citizen of this community died at his home on Dr. Brandon's farm three miles north of Milford last Sunday afternoon April 5th. Mr. Stauffer has been in failing health for some time and therefore his death is not unexpected. He was born September 26, 1857 in Folgensburg, Alsass, Germany and came to America with his parents in 1866. He was married to Lydia Harris February 15, 1880 and to them nine children were born, 6 sons and 3 daughters; one son and one daughter preceded him to the spiritual worldo. He leaves a sorrowing widow, five sons, two daughters, one grandchild, four brothers, one sister, and many other relatives and friends to mourn his departure, but they need not mourn as those who have no hope.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, both at the family home and the Amish Church west of town, burial taking place in the church cemetery.
