After a couple of weeks of indisposition that did not seem serious to herself nor family, she became seriously ill on Tuesday night last, and about two o'clock, she laid down to rest, with her daughter alongside, and before morning her daughter found the Spirit of Mother had passed away, while in her last quiet sleep, called death! Peacefully she passed, without a struggle by heart failure. We knew Miss Sarah J. McCort in her school years, and after-wards married Richard Brackin, both of Union Township, and of the marriage four sons and four daughters were born, all of whom with the husband, survive her. Her disposition kind, a faithful wife and devoted mother. A life long member of the M. E. Church, died Wednesday morning, October 2, 1901, aged about 74 years."
