Felicia "Toots" Verdigets, at the age of 90 received her angels' wings into heaven on December 5, 2010.

"Toots", as she was so fondly called by those who knew and loved her was born in Long Beach, MS to Joseph and Mary Giuffria and grew up with seven loving and always comical brothers. She married the love of her life John Joseph Verdigets and lived a long, devoted, beautiful life on the coast in Long Beach, and raised two wonderful children, Cheryl and Johnny.

Toots was a devout catholic at St. Thomas Catholic Church and a member of the women's alter society. She was also a member of the Women's Elks Auxiliary. She worked several years for the chancery clerk court before retiring at an early age to enjoy and embrace each memorable moment of the rest of her life.

Toots loved to cook, entertain, go to the beach and fish, be with her friends, tell funny stories, and most of all, she loved laughing with her family over a good meal.

Her smile and her contagious laugh could light up any room. Toots was also known for her passion of sewing. She loved to make clothes, quilts and pillows for her kids, grandkids and anybody else in her circle of friends and family. She and John had so many wonderful years together and enjoyed many nights, dancing, playing cards with friends, and going to the Long Beach Yacht Club. She also loved to attend the Long Beach Senior Center where she and her friends would make quilts for others in the community. One of the things Toots would love to say is "We had a good time.....we really did" and we know that she had a wonderful life.....she really did.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, John Verdigets, Jr.; and 4 brothers, Eugene, Louis, Pasquale and Guy Giuffria.

Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Verdigets Boyd and husband Bubba; 3 brothers, Salvadore, Joseph and Peter Giuffria; 4 grandchildren, Valeria Boyd, Brandon Boyd and wife Amber, Rodney Boyd and wife Andrea, and Brian Verdigets and wife Nikki; and 5 great-grandchildren, Clay & John Boyd, and Logan, Raegan and Morgan Verdigets and daughter-in-law Jonnette Verdigets.

Visitation will be from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 8 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road in Long Beach. There will be a Prayer Service at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, followed by the interment at Long Beach City Cemetery.
