Mr. Richard "Dick" Delano Culler, 69, of Winston-Salem died Saturday morning, April 26, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born Sept. 22, 1933, in Forsyth County to Robert W. and Luttia Reich Culler. Mr. Culler graduated from John W. Hanes High School, class of 1951, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Wesley Asbury Sunday school class. Mr. Culler was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ellen Bowles; and a brother, Agnew Culler. Surviving are his wife, Mary Nelson Culler of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Mitzi and William Jahn of Leavenworth, Kan.; a son and daughter-in-law, Rich and Angela Culler of Kernersville; four grandchildren, Zac, Brean, Bryant and Dalton; five sisters, all of Winston-Salem, Bernice Scales, Imogene Marion and husband, Wendell, Faye Dowell and husband, Sam, Peggy Short and Shelby Thomas; a special niece, Sue Hensley of Tampa, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Norma Culler; also his mother-in-law, Pansy Wall. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, in Trinity United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Lee Strange and the Rev. Ervin Hauser. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. Mr. Culler will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service at the church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church Building Fund, 3819 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104. The family sends a special "thank you" to Dr. Tom Hinson, Dr. Bruce Brasher and the 8th floor staff at Forsyth Medical Center.
