Death came to E.S. Hutzell last Saturday February 26, at his home south of Earlham.
Though he had been in failing health for many months his death occurred suddenly when he was being assisted to sit up to take his dinner at noon.
He was 68 years old.
Funeral services in charge of Reverend Bock assisted by
Reverend Conde were held at the Presbyterian church Monday afternoon at two 0'clock. Burial was in the Adel cemetery.

Samuel Edward Hutzell
Samuel Edward Hutzell, son of
Henry & Susan Hutzell, was born
October 31, 1869 at
Mount Morris, Illinois.
He was the oldest of twelve children. When a small boy he came with his parents to
Dallas County, Iowa.
For the past twenty five years he had lived on a farm south of
Earlham.
In 1893 he was united in marriage to Daisy Evelyn Fenn.
To this union thirteen children, two of whom died in infancy.
He departed February 26, 1938 after many months of failing health and patient uncomplaining suffering. He was a kind loving husband and an affectionate father, a good lover of home.
The sincerity of his faith was written in a daily life of quiet, unassuming goodness.
It can well be said.
"To know him was to love him".
He is survived by his wife
Daisy Evelyn and eleven children.
Ralph, Lloyd, and Maurice Hutzell, and Mebel Barnett of Linden; Lela McCarty, Arel Roberts, and Violet Hutzell of Perry, Ethel Melton of Van Meter; Ora Strong of Earlham; Ray Hutzell of Algona, and Lawrence Hutzell of Early. Also twenty-two grandchildren, six sisters, four brothers, and many other relatives and friends.
