Ethel A. Melton, 96, Adel, died of heart failure Tuesday, November 12, 2002, at Adel Acres Care Center.

Visitation will be held after 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at McCalley Funeral Home in Adel. The family will be present from 4-7 p.m., when the prayer service will begin.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at McCalley Funeral Home with burial at West Linn Cemetery near Linden.

Ethel Melton was born in Adel and had farmed near Linden over 40 years. She had lived in Adel the last 10 years.

She was a member of Farm Bureau and Linden Senior Citizens. She enjoyed gardening at her farm home.

She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Perriogo of Linden; one son, Lee Melton of Bagley; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clark; five brothers, Ralph, Roy, Lloyd, Laurence and Maurice; five sisters, Lela McCarty, Ora Strong, Mabel Barnett, Arol Fiscel, and Violet White; and one granddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
