Ethel Hawkins, 83, of Uvalde died Feb. 6, 2009, at Amistad Nursing Home.
Hawkins was born on May 17, 1925, in Hondo to Hugo Johannes Ambrose and Emma Lena Neuman Reitzer.
She is survived by one son, Michael D. Hawkins of Rosharon; two granddaughters, Jackie Felan and Misty Hawkins; three great-grandchildren, Brookelyn, Whitney and Bailey Felan; and one sister-in-law, Wanda Reitzer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, James Reitzer.
Graveside services were held on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. George Stewart officiating.
