DR. GARLAND MORRIS ROBE

SIBLEY, LA. - Dr. Garland Morris Robe graduated this life with Honors and passed into the loving arm of Jesus surrounded by his family. God gave him to us on Oct. 16, 1932, and Daddy went back to be with Jesus on Dec. 7, 2010. We are thankful for the gift that he was to us.

Of all the titles awarded him, "Daddy", "Papaw", and "Pastor" were his favorite. Dr. Robe pastored 4 area churches, his last being Baptist Tabernacle in Sibley. He was truly a wonderful pastor, and the ripple effect of his life will only be known on the shores of eternity.

Dr. Robe lived each day to the fullest and has enriched the lives of many. Morris was the husband to Elaine Anderson Robe for 58 years, and the father and father-in-law to 2 daughters, Judy and husband Philip Salley, Karen and husband Larry Bowden. He was Papaw to Tiffany & Eric Toups, Nathan & Sandie Salley, Ruse & April Salley, Heather & Lee Curry, Brooke Weeks, Brandi & Dave Brooms, & Cody Bowden; 13 beautiful great-grandchildren. He is now reunited with the loved ones that preceded him and is welcoming his arrival in heaven; parents, Howell and Gladys Robe and brother, Robert Robe.

Karen & Judy want to thank their Mom for the unselfish and affecitionate way she cared for their Daddy during this long Parkinson's illness. She truly lived up to her wedding vows"..In sickness and in health. till death do us part."

Bro. Robe's visitation will be Friday, Dec. 10, 2010 at Rose-Neath in Minden from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. His homecoming celebration will be Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Shreveport Baptist Temple and officiated by Dr. Howard Hall and assisted by Bro.
