73, of 1374 E. Losey St., Galesburg, died at 9:55 a.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
She was born August 23, 1937 in Galesburg the daughter of LeRoy H. and Grace Boone Lovitt.
She is survived by two sons, Wayne Hillman and Kevin (and Heather) Holmes, both of Galesburg, a grandson, Brett J. Holmes, and a sister, Dorothy M. Gardner of Maquon. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Brett L. Holmes on October 25, 1987, three brothers, and a sister.
Dixie worked in the insurance business as an office assistant for many years. She was a member of First Church of God. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1955.
Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010 in East Linwood Cemetery. Rev. Dennis McQuown will officiate. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel. Memorial may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
