Funeral for Orval Davis, 77, of 3402 Pinehurst Drive S.W., Decatur, will be today at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Brooks Barkley officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Davis died Friday at his residence. He was a retired Decatur businessman, land developer, owner of Brookhaven Golf Course, Owner of Davis Grocery and a former employee of Alabama and Cooper Wells Hosiery Mills. He was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was born September. 8, 1916, to William Thomas Davis and Sarah Louisa Humphries Davis, in Morgan County.
He is survived by his wife Catherine Peck Davis, one son, Danny Joe Davis of Decatur, one daughter, Janice Davis James of Decatur, one step-brother, Furvon Stonic of Birmingham; one sister, Katrina Davis Hendrix of Decatur, two step-sisters, Toni Aday of Hillsboro and Melba Jean Walker of Columbus, Georgia; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Milton McNalley, Charles Brooks, R.C. Wilson, Elgin Childers, Richard Dunn, and Harold Holland.
Honary pallbearers will be members of Tom Ford's Sunday School Class at Southside Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Morgan County.
