Funeral service for Catherine Peck Davis, 94, of Decatur, will be Monday, January 7, 2013, at 2 p.m., at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ben Hayes officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Davis died on January 5, 2013. She was born on December 20, 1918, in Morgan County, to Marvin Gilbert Peck and Minnie Russell Peck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval Davis, they were married 54 years before his death; parents; brother, Russell Marvin Peck; and sister, Josephine "Jo" Peck Baggett.
She had been a member of Southside Baptist Church since June 1956. She and her husband were the owners of Davis Grocery, and Brookhaven Golf Course. She was a Realtor in Decatur for 20 years. She worked for Southern Oaks Realtors, and Home Realty.
She was a lifetime member of Mizpah Chapter 19, Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her son, Danny J. Davis (Sabra); daughter, Jan Davis James (Jerry); granddaughters, Sherry Chenault (Mike) and Sloan Davis; grandsons, Mark Brazelton (Amanda); Hayden Davis; and great-grandsons, Wes Chenault, Easton Chenault, and Noah Brazelton.
Pallbearers will be Mark Brazelton, Noah Brazelton, Easton Chenault, Wesley Chenault, Randy Baggett, and Laymone Cochran.
Memorial gifts may be made to The Hospice of the Valley.
