Joseph D. Goszewski, age 86, of 28580 Engoe Road in Washburn, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004, at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland. He was born Oct. 12, 1918, in Washburn, the son of John and Hedwig (Cipka) Goszewski.

He was a lifelong area resident. On June 26, 1971, he married Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Walusiak in Ashland. He worked for 30 years with the DuPont Company in Barksdale retiring on April 30, 1970. He was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Ashland. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, dancing and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Goszewski of Washburn; a step-daughter, Debra (Timothy) Jack of Ashland; a step-son, Robert (Catherine) Johnson of Fond du Lac; two step-grandchildren, Brendon (Kimberly) Jack of Washburn and Neil Jack of DePere; a brother, Stanley Goszewski of Las Vegas, Nev.; a sister, Victoria Butkiewicz of Hickory Hills, Ill.; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Anna Goszewski; a step-grandson, Nathan Jack; three sisters, Florence Kranstover, Sophie Goszewski and Helen Keil.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, at Bratley Funeral Home in Washburn. Brother Frank Folino will officiate. Interment will follow the service in the Calvary Cemetery in Washburn. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at Bratley Funeral Home.
