Pastor David Marshall Thomas, 60, of Edmond met his Savior on Sunday, December 5, 2010. The story of his life could be told by the people he met. David invested in people throughout his life here and around the world. David was a loving father and husband and a bridge builder between races, nations and congregations. His pastor's heart stretched to a passion for missions into 9 nations such as India, Africa, & S. America where he loved to encourage pastors. The greatest passion of David's heart was to worship his Lord as well as leading the body of Christ to do the same. He was loved for his quick wit which never lacked kindness. David grew up in California and graduated from San Diego State University and obtained his Master's of Divinity at Oral Roberts University. He pastored three churches in the Edmond/Oklahoma City area: Metrochurch, Citychurch, and founded Christ Church International. He was instrumental in founding the Hope Center of Edmond and Metrocenter ministry for unwed mothers. He ministered in Colorado Springs, CO and founded Family of Grace Church as well as pastoring the Christian Center of Colorado Springs. David was also known for teaching the Word and loved teaching "Bible" at OK Christian School for 10 years. In 2000, he founded Leadership Impact International as an outreach to undeveloped nations where he trained pastors and ministry leaders. David is preceded in death by his mother, Marge. He will be missed by his wife, Pamella, son Micah David Thomas, and daughter Chelsea McKinley Thomas. He also leaves behind his father Pastor Joseph "Joe" Thomas and two sisters: Mary Salyer and Dr. Rebeka "Beki" Thomas, as well as nieces, nephews and friends near and far away. A family reception will be held 6:00-8:00pm at Crawford Family Funeral Service, 610 NW 178th Street in Edmond on Wednesday, Dec. 8th.
