Bernard Anthony Crowe, 75 of Austin, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Sacred Heart Care Center.

He was born Dec. 23, 1934, in Austin to Martin and Loretta (Feuerhelm) Crowe. He graduated from Pacelli High School. He attended Gunsmith School in Colorado.

Bernard lived in Austin all of his life. He worked as a carpenter, and was a member of Carpenter Local Union 1644 for 50 years. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Bernard served in the United States Army.

He was a member of Queen of Angels Parish, Austin.

Bernard was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed duck hunting, gunsmithing and hiking. In his earlier years he was an avid hockey player. He was always willing to share his knowledge with others.

Survivors include his sisters, Monica Severson, Marie Wiese and Kathleen Erickson, and brother Larry (Joyce) Crowe, all of Austin; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kenneth and Edward; and two sisters, Rose Rita Crowe and Joanne Wolfe.

Visitation is one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, with Father Dale Tupper officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin
