CONWAY - Ruby G. Suggs Chestnut, 78, died Monday, March 6, 2000, in Conway Hospital after an illness.

She was born in Conway, a daughter of the late George M. and Helen Causey SUGGS. She was the widow of William Park Chestnut.

She retired from AVX Corp. after 37 years of service and then worked at Pinedale Nursing Center as an activities director. She was a member of Langston Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, E. Randall Chestnut of Atlanta; two daughters, Opal C. Hucks and her husband, Freddie B., and Emma Lee Williams and her husband, Aubrey, all of Conway; a sister, Ellise Martin of Loris; four grandchildren, Michael L. Hucks, Dennis A. Williams and Gail W. Mishoe, all of Conway, and *Kimberly M. Chestnut of Mount Pleasant; four great-grandchildren, Colby Hucks, Reid Williams, Erin Williams and Wilson Mishoe.

She was predeceased by a sister, a brother and a grandson, *William Richard Chestnut.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Langston Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Randall Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
