She married Paul C. Young on October 24, 1934 in McKinney.
She graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sority where she served as President, and also President of Motar Board Society. She was active in Halcyon Club, Bluebonnet Club, and as a Pink Lady at Collin Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed more than 50 years at her Dallas Sewing Club. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in McKinney where she was active with First United Methjodist Social Workers.
She is suvived by her son, Jim Young of McKinney; daughter Beverly Lightburn of Dallas; grandson Walt Lightburn; granddaughter Linda Read; 4 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, George C. Webb.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Goldie Webb; and brother Jim Caldwell
