Killed by Tree
Christopher C. Fisher of Wolcott died at the Mary Fletcher hospital last week of a shock following a compound fracture of the femur, suffered when a tree he was chopping on his timber lot at Wolcott fell on him. He was nearly 78 years old, being born February 21, 1841. Mr. Fisher was, after some difficulty, taken out of the woods and rushed to the hospital by automobile. An operation was performed, but he lived only 18 hours after arrival at the hospital. Mr. Fisher was born in Germany, but was brought to this country when only six years old. He is survived by his wife, who was Emma Tillotson and six sons, George E. of Lyndonville, Vernon L. of Wolcott, Homer O. of Wilmot N.H., Charles H. and Archie R. of Wolcott and Gustav L. of Cul de Sac, Idaho. He served in the Civil War, Being a member of Company I of the Sixth Vermont that was recruited in this vieinty. The body was taken to the funeral parlor of Corbin & Frye. The funeral services were held at this late home in Wolcott on Friday
