Frances Marie (Collett) Rempp, 80, of Irene, SD passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton surrounded by her children and all of her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 pm; Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Irene, SD. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, Irene, SD.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm with a prayer service beginning at 7pm, Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Hansen Funeral Home in Irene, SD.

Frances M. Rempp was born July 12, 1928 in Gayville, SD to Sherman and Bernice (VanOsdel) Collett. She was baptized and confirmed in the Gayville Methodist Church where she was a member, later transferring to Irene United Methodist Church. Frances attended Gayville Public School twelve years and graduated in 1946. On June 1, 1946 she married Allan "Barney" Rempp. After living in the Gayville area, they farmed in the Irene area many years and moved to Irene in 1971. She was employed at SD Human Service Center for 19 years. During her retirement, she worked with her daughters at Tri County News and Village Floral. Frances enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sewing, reading and listening to gospel music.

She is survived by a very loving, faithful, and caring family; daughters Berniece (Leon) Hansen, Irene, SD, and Brenda (Doug) Mellegard, Viborg, SD; Son-in-law Jim Larsen, Yankton, SD; Grandchildren Dallas (Alicia) Hansen, Dana (Michael) Gade, Tracy (Jamie) Roth, Jason (Tiffany Ganschow) Mellegard, Jennifer (Anthony) Kos, and Barrie (Tona) Larsen; Great-grandchildren Jens Hansen, Oliver and Reagan Gade, Matthew and Joshua Roth, Ethan and Landon Kos, Joey and Brianna Nickles, Ryker and Cooper Larsen; Sisters Lora Yahnke, TX, Leila Draper, IA, and Linda Zimmerman, SD; Brothers Paul Collett, NE, Robert Collett, MI, Daniel Collett, CA and "adopted' brother John Heinrich, CA; Sisters-in-law Marjorie Sykora, SD and Florence Rempp, SD and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter (Carolyn), four brothers and one granddaughter.
