Lora Louise Collett Yahnke, 85, our devoted mother and grandmother, passed away
peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2016.

Memorial service: 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Gayville Methodist Church,
Gayville, S.D. Graveside Service: Mission Hill Cemetery, Mission Hill, S.D.
Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home, Yankton, S.D.

Born October 18, 1930, Lora was the fourth of eleven children born to S. Sherman
Collett and Bernice (Van Osdel) Collett, and the last to be born at the family
home in Gayville, S.D. Lora was a 1948 graduate of Gayville High School and
class valedictorian. After graduation, she worked for WNAX Radio in Yankton,
S.D.

Lora married Leslie Sivertson in 1951 at the Methodist Church in Gayville and
they were blessed with three children: Ronald, Richard, and Lori. Aside from
occasional part-time employment, Lora was a stay-at-home Mom, devoted to the
care of her family and their home. She served as a Cub Scout den mother, room
mother and PTA president, and helped with every school banquet, pot luck, and
ice cream social. Lora's skills in the kitchen were amazing and everything she
made was prepared from scratch and with love.

After divorcing in 1975, Lora moved to West Des Moines, Iowa where she worked as
office manager for L.A. Fulton & Sons and in 1981, began her career with the
USPS. She retired from the postal service in 1997 and moved to Mountainburg,
Ark. where she enjoyed small town living and the beauty of "the Natural State"
for the next ten years. Health challenges necessitated her move to Fort Worth,
Texas to be near her daughter Lori in 2007. She enjoyed gardening, bird
watching, antiquing and just being with family. She was very proud of her South
Dakota roots and will be laid to rest in her home state.

Lora was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Bernice Collett, her
brothers Donald, James, David, Richard, Daniel and Robert; and her sisters,
Frances Rempp and Linda Zimmerman.

Lora is survived by her sons, Ron Sivertson of Topeka, Kansas, and Rich
Sivertson (Cristie Spill) of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter Lori (Mark) Singletary
of Fort Worth, Texas; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; brother
Paul (Eleanor) Collett of Omaha, Neb.; and sister Leila Draper of Papillion,
Neb.
