Mrs. Pearl Ethel Shook, 72, town of Poughkeepsie, died yesterday at her home. Born in the town of Stanford Sept 28, 1895, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Edith (Knickerbocker) Wurster. Her husband, Virgil Shook, Sr., died in 1945. She is survived by five sons, Vincent and Virgil, both of Stanfordville; Joseph, Eustis, Fla; Arthur J., Pleasant Valley; and Raymond H. Shook, Wappingers Falls; six daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Amy) Winchell, Hyde Park; Mrs. Walter (Joyce) Homan, Stanfordville; Mrs. Frank (Malone) Elsbree; Stanfordville; Mrs. William (Elizabeth) Haviland, Pine Plains; Mrs. Alex (Eleanor) Lasko, with whom she made her home; and Mrs. Jerry (Edith) Heiser, Wappingers Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Charvos, Mrs. Sarah Kozus; Mrs. Edwin Juckett, and Mrs. Mildred Carlson, all of Poughkeepsie; one brother, Theron Wurster, Highland; 36 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in the Stanford Cemetery.
