OBITUARIES
STANFORDVILLE-Elizabeth
Haviland, 81, a lifelong area
resident, with family in Millerton,
Stanfordville, and Millbrook, died
on Jan. 9, 2000 at her home.
Mrs. Haviland was a homemaker.
She was a member of the United
Church of Christ in Stanfordville.
Born in Stanfordville on Sept.
13, 1918, she was a daughter of the
late Virgil and Pearl Wurster Shook.
She was predeceased by her
husband, William T. Haviland on
Dec. 28, 1981 and three sons,
Vincent, Vernon and John J.
Survivors include four daughters,
Sharon Slater of Eustis, Fla., June
Haviland of Craryville, Sheila
Hough of Ancram, and Shirley
Curtis of Stanfordville; two sons,
Joseph of Craryville, and William
of Millerton; 12 grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; several step
grandchildren; and a great great-
step granddaughter. A sister, Edith
Heiser of Millerton and a brother
Vernon Shook of Millbrook also
survive her.
Arrangements were by Peck &
Peck Funeral Home, Pine Plains.
Funeral services were from the
funeral home, with the Rev. Andrew
Smith officiating.
Burial was in the Stanford
Cemetery, Stanfordville.
