Marie was born in Ankum, Germany, to Johann Heinrich Friedrich Von Bokern and Maria Elisabetha Margaretha Homer. She immigrated to the US in 1895 and settled in Louisville, KY. Adolph wed Maria Johanna Wilhemina Von Bokern in 1910 and they had 10 children: Alma, Leo, Geneva, Sylvester, Norbert, Clarence, Marie, Agnella, Mary Agnes and Adolph.
