WEBER CITY, Va. ---- Iowa Roberts, 83, Jennings Street, died early Friday morning (Aug. 8, 1997) at Greystone Health Care, Blountville.
A native of Carroll County, Va., she was homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Roberts; a daughter, Helen Pierson, in 1996; and her parents, Glen and Nora Newman Bartlett.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Don Robinette, Kingsport; a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Carole Roberts, Gate City, Va.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren; a step great-great-grandchild; four sisters, Lissie Arnold and Dot McCann, both of Kingsport, Gladys Hicks, Jonesborough, and Mae Tate, Gate City, Va.; and a brother, Robert Bartlett, California.
Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, Va., and anytime at the home of the daughter, 3313 Misty Drive (Sullivan Gardens), Kingsport, and at the residence of Don Roberts (Yuma community).
Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tony Cox officiating.
Music will be provided by Junior Smith.
Graveside services, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holston View Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be friends and neighbors.
