Ackley

Milton J. Ackley, a prominent old resident of Davenport died at his home, 1719 Rock Island street last evening at 7:30 o'clock of pneumonia. He had been ill only a week and many of his friends in the city did not know that he had been ill at all.
Mr Ackley was employed by the Rock Island railroad for 25 years prior to six years ago, when he engaged in the hardware business in Davenport. He had made his home here for about 40 years. He was born August 21, 1852 in Blair county, Pennsylvania.
He, is survived by his wife, who was Mary I. Booth, a Davenport lady also, before her marriage, and by two sons, D. R. and L. M. Ackley. He also leaves two brothers, William and M. J. Ackley living in California, a nephew in Nevada, la., and two nephews in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
The funeral will be held from the family residence, 1719 Rock Island street, Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
