My Dad served in the Army during the Korean War. Stationed in Germany, he was privileged to be a member of the "Choraliers", a Mens Singing Group who were part of a Good Will Tour in Europe. He married Arlene Schultz in Zion Lutheran Church on May 31, 1953 in Neshkoro, Marquette, Wisconsin. He had two sons, Paul E. Nickolai, born in 1959 and Phillip A. Nickolai who was born in 1965. Dad attended Wautoma High School, Waushara County Normal School & graduated from The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he received his Bachelor of Education Degree & The University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his Masters Degree in Education. He taught in the elementary school system for over 38 years. He taught school in Auroraville, Pine River, Redgranite and Green Lake Wisconsin. He was also the Principal at Poy Sippi Elementary School until the time of his retirement in 1989. Dad was my 5th Grade teacher. He served as Church organist at Emmaus Lutheran Church for many years until failing eyesight, due to diabetes, forced his retirement. He loved music. He was a member of Emmaus Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Poy Sippi, Wisconsin since 1954, and choir member there at Emmaus, loyal and faithful to the end, until his untimely death, while on vacation with my mom, near Disney World (In Celebration, ironic, huh?) in Florida.

He was a kind, gentle & dedicated person who was a loving husband, father, grandfather & uncle. His quiet wit and the ability to see things in a way no one else could, made him a very special father. I miss my dad. More than word's can ever express. To know him...was to love him.

I never saw faults in him, he had none as I saw it. That was my Dad & what he accomplished & I'm darn proud to have been his son.

THE HOLY SCRIPTURES SAY THIS ABOUT DYING IN THE LORD:

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 In my Father's house are many rooms: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

John: Chapter 14 vs: 1-3
------------------
21 Our Lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.

Matthew 25:vs.21
-------------------
"Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into the place which I have prepared."

Exodus 23:20
-------------------

My Father believed these promises, and now is in the presence of our God & Lord. I also believe these promises the Lord has made, and I look forward to the day that we see each other again.
