Dr. Hermann J. Able died at his home in Honeoye last Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 30, of tuberculosis. Last summer he became worried about his health and in Sept. went to the Adirondack mountains where he remained until the middle of October when he returned and again took up his practice until about six weeks ago when his final Illness began. Mr. Able was born In Germany, Sept. 22, 1870 and in 1886, his parents moved to Canandalgua. After graduating from the Academy at Canandaigua he then went to Buffalo where in 189S, he graduated from the Medical College. In 1896 he went to Honeoye where he has since practiced.
May 22, 1901 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary J. Ashley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Ashley of Honeoye.
Mr. Able was Secretary of the Eagle Lodge at Honeoye until December, and through his efforts the Eastern Star, No. 850 was organized. The Masonic order of which he was a member attended his funeral in a body and paid their last tribute of respect to a brother Mason.
The funeral was held from the Congregational church at that place Friday at 11 o'clock. The Rev. Dr. Dill officiating. Burial in the Lake View cemetery. Deceased leaves a wife, one son and one daughter, a father and mother, three brothers, two reside at Canandaigua and one in Tennesee, also a sister who lives at Canandaigua, besides a large circle of friends who sympathize with the relatives in their sad bereavement.
