LEVI S. SMALTZ.
Levi S. Smaltz died at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon at his home, 1610 Seventeenth avenue, of Bright's disease. The deceased was born near Martinsburg on December 27, 1857. He formerly lived in Taylor township, and taught school in that township four terms, and in 1892 he removed to Altoona. He was employed by Frank Brandt as a house foreman. His parents and relatives reside near Roaring Spring, with the exception of one uncle, David Smaltz, who resides in this city.
He was married September 16, 1883, to Annie L. Dick, of Roaring Spring, and is survived by his wife and three children--Leah, Blair and Walter Smaltz. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
