Mildred Berlyene Stowe, 96, of 15121 Union School Road, Charlotte passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at her home after a short illness.

Born on May 17, 1914 in Mecklenburg County to the late Edward and Ossie Crenshaw Taylor.

She was also preceded in death by daughters Shelby Jean Toalson and Harriet Stowe Dalrymple, grandchildren Carmen Celeste Almond and Lexy Flynn Stowe and great grandson Aaron Flynn Keasler.

Mrs. Stowe was a graduate of Derita High School and was a member of Mallard Creek Community Baptist Chuch. She retired from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Department in 1976 as a Deputy Sheriff. Her passions were her family, flowers and gardening. In addition she enjoyed NASCAR racing and took up the sports that her children enjoyed.

Mrs. Stowe is survived by: daughters; Linda Stowe Keasler of Concord, Mildred Almond of Harrisburg, and Anita Stowe of Charlotte; son, Lexy Warner Stowe of Charlotte, 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

The family meeting place will be at the home.

A visitation will be held at Mallard Creek Community Baptist Church on Monday, December 6, 2010 from 11 AM until 12:30 PM. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 PM at the church with Rev. Tommy Bright officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
