Sarah Everson Gunderson was born 5 May 1847 in Rock County, Wisconsin, and died 5 November 1927 in Ransom County, ND. She was one of the earliest settlers in Ransom County, arriving there with her husband, Erik Gunderson, in 1882. Erik and Sarah were married in St. Ansgar, IA in 1869. Nine children were born to them: George Erick, Charles Oliver, John Alfred, Emma Sophia, Nellie Elida, Ida Matilda, Eddie Burnhard, Clara Otilia, and Minnie Bertina. Funeral services were held at West St. Olaf Church, Rev. O.J. Lutness officiating.
