He was raised in Three Rivers and Simmons and graduated from Three Rivers High School in 1958. He resided in the Dallas area until the mid-1970s and moved to Corpus Christi where he lived until returning to Live Oak County in the early 1990s. He was a member of the Oakville Baptist Church and the Windmill Emmaus Community. Mr. Bell loved children and he helped coach Little League and took several softball teams to the state playoffs in Waco.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hudson Bell, in January 1982; his stepfather, Clifton Elliott in November 1987; and his mother, Laura Elliott in May 1991.
Survivors include his best friend and companion, Donna White of George West; three daughters, Beki (Kelly) Wilson of Three Rivers, Stephanie White of College Station and Ashly Becton of George West; four sons, Joshua Wadsworth and Daniel White, both of George West, Floyd White of San Marcos and Brandon Bell of Mesquite; a sister, Barbara Elliott of Kingsville; a brother, Robert (Kathy) Elliott of Sugar Land; three grandchildren, Kati Jo and Maggi Wilson of Three Rivers and William Wadsworth of Beeville; a nephew and niece, Colin and Shannon Elliott of Sugar Land; and his lifelong friend, Norman Barron of Corpus Christi.
Visitation was held Tuesday at First Baptist Church in George West. The funeral was held this morning (Wednesday) at 10 o'clock. Burial followed at the Three Rivers Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Norman Barron, Tommy Humphrey, Ralph Taylor, Dean Smith, Joe Gordou, Wood Harrod, Billy Wieding and Juan Ramos.
