Lydia Toothman was the daughter of John and Sarah Toothman. She was born in Bowling Green, Fayette County, Illinois. She married Robert Pound on 28 October 1891 in Decatur, Macon County, Illinois. She gave birth to two daughters. Ruth in 1892 and an Infant Girl on 13 December 1893. Her Infant Daughter died a week later on 20 December and Lydia followed on 23 December 1893. Her other daughter Ruth joined them on 29 October 1896 at the age of 4. She was buried in Mount Zion Cemetery, but no marker has been found.
