Jack H. Arp, 85, of Davenport, died Friday, Feb. 13, 2004, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. Celebration of Life Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park with the American Legion Post No. 26 of Davenport performing an honor guard. Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association or The Davenport National Federation of the Blind.

Jack was born Oct. 4, 1918, in Eldridge, Iowa, the son of Peter and Dorothea (Pahl) Arp. He married Lois A. Mohr on March 22, 1942, in Davenport. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jack was a dental technician working for the Professional Prosthetics Dental Lab in Davenport. He was a life member of the Davenport American Legion Post No. 26, Davenport, and a Boy Scout leader for B.S.A. He enjoyed stain glass art, bowling, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Jack's survivors include his wife, Lois A. Arp, Davenport; daughter, Sharon Lowery, Davenport; sons, Gary W. (Wendy) Arp, Bettendorf, Dean C. Arp, Davenport, and Kevin J. Arp (Connie), Eldridge, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Sarah, Chad, Jenni, Brad, Doug, Jordan, Austin and Nicholas; one great-grandchild, J.C.; and a brother, Ned Arp, Davenport.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Annabelle and June, and brothers, Bill and James.
