John Alexander, Jr., 88, of Neptune Beach, FL passed away peacefully at home on Oct. 13, 2010. He was born in Malden, Massachusetts on Oct. 10, 1922, graduated from Medford High School in Medford, MA and took accounting classes at Harvard University night school, Cambridge, MA. John was proud to have served his country as a Sergeant Major in the U.S Marine Corp during WWI and the Korean Conflict. He worked for Diesel Ship Building, Co., Prudential Insurance Co., and retired from the City of Neptune Beach in 1988. John was a resident of the Beaches since 1944 and also served as a Beaches Auxiliary Policeman for many years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor Cusic Alexander; son, John Alexander, III (Linda); daughter, Jane Alexander; sister-in-law, Jessie Cusic (Tommy) and many nieces and nephews. A family service will be held at a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jax, FL 32257.
