Eugene Andrew Kearin passed away on December 1, 2010 in Lancaster, California; he was surrounded by the love of his family.

Gene was born on a farm in Ramona, South Dakota on November 16, 1924. He was a veteran of WWII and The Korean War, serving both as an Army Airborne paratrooper.

He worked as a civil engineer for over fifty years in the Los Angeles area. Gene enjoyed camping and boating with The California Cruising Club alongside his beloved Helen, his wife of twenty-nine years. He was a lifelong Dodger fan, first in Brooklyn then in Los Angeles; and considered them The Greatest Team in the World.

He is survived by eight children: Diane, Robert, Lisa, David, Art, Sheila, Shawn, and Stephen; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Lenora Yocum of Oakhurst, California.

A visitation will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary, 11160 Stranwood Avenue, Mission Hills. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. at Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary, with burial services immediately following.
A reception will be held at The Mission Hills Catholic Mortuary.
