Greenville/Granville Ferguson married Eliza Jane Wright on 5 Feb 1851 in Virginia (dates have not been verified). To this union, the following children were born:
Mary A. Ferguson (1853 - 1933), John Cyrus Ferguson (1855-1920), James F. (1858 - died young), George Ferguson (1861-1927), and Eleanor "Nellie" Ferguson Eckhard (1864 - 1942). Only Eleanor married; none had children.
On 31 Dec 1853, Greenville was appointed U. S. Postmaster of Springville, Tazewell County, Virginia. In the mid 1850s, he and Eliza moved their family from Virginia to the Flat Creek Township of Barry County (MO). By 1860, the family had taken root in St. Louis where he honed his trade as a carpenter, predominantly making cabinets.
Unfortunately, he succumbed to pneumonia on 20 Mar 1880.
