County Man Ends His Life

Benjamin Moubray, 56, ended his life with a shotgun yesterday afternoon at 5:30 at his home in the Peak Section, West of Mt. Clinton.

Coroner F.L. Byers who was called to the scene with Sheriff S.M. Callender, rendered a verdict of suicide.

Sheriff Callendar was told that Moubray had been despondent for some time and some weeks ago returned home after working in the Timberville Section.

The Sheriff was informed that Moubray was outside the house with other members of the family when he said he was going in to get his coat, as it was cool. A few minutes later a report was heard from a shotgun.

The body of Moubray was found in the bedroom with the shotgun beside it.

He is survived by his wife, 5 daughters and one son.

Funeral services will be held from the Mt. Clinton Mennonite Church, Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock.

He was a member of the Mennonite Church and had many friends in the Peak Community.

Family state the reason for ending his life was due to fellow workers teasing him relentlessly about his only son possibly getting drafted into the war.
