James David/Daniel Martin - his parents are supposedly John "Jack" Martin b. c1805 in SC and Sarah Helms b. c1810 in SC. He married Mary Ann E.(?Elizabeth) Helms c1860 in Coffee Co., AL. They had at least 13 children:

On 02 Sep 1862, James enlisted in the CSA as Pvt., Co. F, 3rd AL Inf. Regt. at Coffee Co., AL by Larkins. On 05 Jul 1863, he was captured at Waterloo; paroled at Ft. McHenry, MD. On 07 Jul 1863, he had an injury to rt. leg, admitted to USA Gen. Hosp., Frederick, MD; transferred to Annapolis, MD (age 29).

James (Head) and his family appear in 1880, 1900, and 1910 Coffee Co., AL Censuses.

Cause of Death: influenza (sick 4 wks.).
