Curtis Bleakley
Curtis Bleakley, proprietor of the Bleakley Bros. Livery barn, and son of Mrs. J.D. Bleakley east of town died at his room at the Gracemont Hotel Saturday afternoon after a brief illness of only two days. Funeral services were preached Sunday at eleven o'clock at the Baptist church by Rev. W.A. Turnage and the body was interred in the Cullen cemetery northeast of town.
"Curt" has left us-his smiles and jokes, his quiet manners and accommodating attitude toward all have departed with him. Perhaps no other man in Gracemont has lent more willing hand than he in caring for the sick and assisting at funerals. Mr. Bleakley leaves a mother, four brothers and five sisters., his father having preceeded him to the grave only a few moths ago. Most of the family lives in the immediate vicinity of Gracemont. Will Bleakley of Anadarko was present at the funeral and Edgar Bleakley, of Shawnee arrived Sunday but too late for the funeral service. Mrs. Lizzie Hand, cousin of Curtis, was in constant attendance at his bedside. Mr. Bleakley was born in Kentucky and has lived in or near Gracemont several years. He was 36 years old and single. He had been ill for several days but was not confined to his room, an attack of acute Brights disease causing death with little warning.
