Elizabeth Brownell is either Christopher's second or third wife depending on the historian account. Elizabeth seems to have been born in Exeter as that is where she is in the census of 1774 with her mother Mary. She married Christopher in 1780.

After Christopher's death, Elizabeth remained in South Kingstown until about 1819 when she removed to Kingsbury, NY where son Robert Hazard Gardner lived. She received Christopher's pension there as late as 1850. She is buried somewhere in Sandy Hill (now Hudson Falls), NY.
