MRS. WISHARD, 84, DIES SUNDAY
MRS. LAURA F. WISHARD, 84, of 3 E. Main St., widow of D. Roy Wishard, died at 10:45 a.m. Sunday at the Waynesboro Hospital.
She had been in failing health the last 12 years and confined to her apartment the last year. Her condition was critical the past week and she was admitted to the hospital at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
She was born at Mont Alto, the daughter of Daniel and Mollie Dull Bumbaugh. Her early life was lived at Mont Alto and she came to Waynesboro after her marriage in 1903.
Mrs. Wishard helped her husband in the restaurant business in the Walker Building. In 1928 they purchased the White Swan Tavern and she took an active part in the management until two years ago. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Woman's Guild of the church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by two sons, Robert L. Wishard, 3 E. Main St. and Donald C. Wishard, 21 N. Church St.; one grandson, Roy H. Wishard, Los Angeles, Calif.; these brothers and sisters, Archie Bumbaugh, Baltimore, Mrs. William Gorman, Cleveland, Ohio; Harry Bumbaugh, Mrs. Jacob Deitrich, Mrs. Annie Crilley and Mrs. Harold Yordy, all of Waynesboro.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Grove Funeral Home conducted by the Rev. Samuel E. Lobach, due to the absence of the Rev. H. Clayton Moyer. Burial will be made in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 until 9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
