On June 3, 1890 she was married to Christopher Powers of Cresco and this city was her home til the death of Mr. Powers Sept. 1, 1914; since that time she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. E.M. Eldridge, Cresco, Ia.
Her long life was a busy one, a life of usefulness. Strengthned by the trails of pioneer days, taught by her life in the country, she learned to administer to others, her life was one of thoughtfulness and kindness for those about her. A helpmate in the home, and a woman loved and honored by the children whose foster mother she became.
Funeral service were held at the Eldridge home and conducted by Rev.W.A. Bockoyen. Mrs. Nellie Willoughby/Willowby and little dau. Betty of Grundy Center, IA., and Will Powers of Fargo, N.D., were here to attend the funeral of their step-mother.∼To find this grave:
A driveway running north-south roughly divides the cemetery into east and west halves. Also a driveway runs east-west. This grave can be found in the northern 2/3rds of the west half of the cemetery that is located north of the east-west driveway.
Please feel free to contact me to add any information or make any corrections.
