Lula Black Pultz, 89, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, December 24, 2005 in Havenwood Manor in Lexington. Mrs. Pultz was born on July 5, 1911 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late Henry Porter Black and Bettie Lee Moore Black.

She was a member and Sunday school teacher at the Timber Ridge Old Stone Presbyterian Church in Lexington and was a school teacher with the Rockbridge County School System.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter McCutchan Pultz. Mrs. Pultz is survived by one daughter, Ellen Pultz Weiker of Davidsonville, Maryland; one son, Vaughan McCutchan Pultz of Decorah, Iowa; four grandchildren; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Black Palmer of Balsam Lake, Wisconsin; and one brother, Charles Black of Natural Bridge.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2005 at the Timber Ridge ARP Church Cemetery,with Dr. J. Michael Wilkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Timber Ridge ARP Church Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory one hour prior to the service at the church.
