She was born Sept 6, 1929, in Jefferson County to John and Pearle Tucker Pederson. She married James R. North on July 10, 1948. He preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2003.
She attended Birmingham High School. She and her husband were a truck driving team for several years.
A member of the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Batavia, she sang with the Gospel Light Telecast.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda(Larry)Humble of Batavia and Kim(Ron)Scherer of Eldon; a son, James M.(Dawn)North of Overland Park, Kan. seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Pederson; and a great-grandson, Zachary Humble.
Funeral services will be 1:30pm Saturday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. David Nord officiating. Burial will be in Batavia Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1pm Friday at the funeral home with the family present from 7-8:30pm Friday. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
