Representative Tony Sellier -CRAWFORD COUNTY- - Anthony Edward "Tony" Sellier, age 65, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Peach Regional Medical Center from congestive heart failure. A resident of middle Georgia for more than 30 years, Tony was recently re-elected to a third term as a Representative in the Georgia General Assembly, representing all of Crawford County, parts of Bibb, Houston, Lamar, Monroe, Peach, and Upson counties. -Tony was born on January 13, 1945 in Port-a-Pierre, Trinidad. As a young boy he moved with his family to Anaco, Venezuela where he lived until leaving to attend high school in central Florida in the early 1960s. Tony became a United States citizen in 1973 and moved to Fort Valley, Georgia in 1975 where he worked for Blue Bird Body Company until retiring in 2006. During his tenure he managed several international expansion projects including: Blue Bird Centroamericano S.A., Blue Bird's assembly plant in Guatemala; Omnibus B.B. Transportes S.A. in Quito, Ecuador; and Blue Bird de Mexico in Monterey, Mexico.

A private pilot and antique car collector, Tony was a member of St. Juliana's Catholic Church in Fort Valley where he was active in the church's migrant ministry. Tony served on the Board of Directors for the South Atlantic Division of The American Cancer Society , was a previous chairman of the Military Affairs Committee for Peach County and was the chairman of the Middle Georgia Military Affairs Committee. He was a corporate board member of The Boys and Girls Clubs of Georgia Heartlands and was a member of the Peach, Houston and Crawford County Chambers of Commerce. Tony was also a member and former president of the Fort Valley Kiwanis Club as well as a member of the Crawford County Cattlemen's Association and Crawford County Farm Bureau.

Tony, along with his wife Judye, was a resident of Crawford County and had three grown children. He is survived by his wife, Judye Hutto Sellier, his mother, Stephanie Sellier of Perry, three brothers and a sister: Stephen Sellier of Tamarac, Florida; Peter Sellier of Houston, Texas; Jeannette Sellier Bowles of Bradenton, Florida and Victor Sellier of Great Falls, Virginia. He and his wife Judye have three children: Rodney Doss of Fort Valley; Heather Sellier Lazenby of Loganville; and Amy Doss Childers of Fort Valley, and eleven grandchildren.
