Mr. Robert E. Holdaway, age 72, of Newnan, died Saturday, May 16, 2009 at Lafayette Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville, Ga. Mr. Holdaway was born Jan. 24, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Hugh VonLoy and Margaret Yocum Holdaway. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Marvon Holdaway, and his wife Shirley Welborn Holdaway. Mr. Holdaway was a printer, by trade, and was a veteran of The United States Army. He was an avid fisherman and loved playing bingo. Survivors include his brothers Dennis Holdaway and his wife Carol of Orem, Utah, and Donald Holdaway and his wife Gayle of Pleasant Grove, Utah; a sister Mareen Brown and her husband Victor of Riverton, Utah. Also surviving are his children Vickie Browne and her husband Charles of Newnan, Judy Holdaway and her husband Armand Grimaldi of Newnan, Sandee Simon and her husband Mark of Atlanta. His grandchildren are Susan Farr, Lisa Smith and husband Larry, Robert Mooradian, Amanda Simon, Rachel Thompson and husband Scott, and Matthew Simon. There are five great grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are by McKoon Funeral Home at 38 Jackson Street. Visitation was Sunday between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. The funeral service will be on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 3 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Highway 29 North in Newnan with President David Ingram officiating. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
